THE ROLE OF THE MEDIA IN SUPPORTING CHILD AND ADOLESCENT NUTRITION AND NCD PREVENTION

This paper, the second in a series, examines the role of integrated media communications in supporting child and adolescent nutrition and NCD prevention, and seeks to address the accurate translation of scientific information into various forms of media—particularly news media—and highlight the influence of storytelling and narratives on human behavior and subsequent dietary preferences. The paper proposes to promote guidelines for all stakeholders (government, private sector, and civil society) that are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and that can result in positive, synergistic behavior and policy change.
